Technical Advisor

About the Role

Jotun is seeking a Technical Advisor to supervise ongoing decorative painting projects in Riyadh. This full-time position involves ensuring the correct application of products and adherence to technical specifications to achieve recommended performance. The Technical Advisor will report to the Senior Technical Advisor.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and guide applicators on proper product application techniques, conduct on-site assessments, and ensure correct surface preparation for coating applications.
• Report on painting activities for decorative and floor coating products to ensure compliance with specifications and procedures.
• Perform quality control tests, including film thickness checks, adhesion tests, and visual assessments, to verify application quality and proactively address surface or performance issues.
• Engage with contractors and applicators to expand a qualified applicator network through training and certification as authorized Jotun applicators.
• Collaborate with the Quality Control Lab to troubleshoot product issues and provide appropriate recommendations to customers.
• Deliver product training sessions for internal teams and customers to enhance their knowledge and skills in product application and performance.
• Adhere to Jotun’s HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality) standards, ensuring consistent use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of hazardous materials in compliance with workplace and environmental safety regulations.

Required Experience and Skills

• 3-4 years of relevant experience in a technical advisory or supervisory role within the painting or coatings industry.
• Ability to act on own initiative, drive results, and take responsibility for outcomes.
• Focus on bottom-line results, identifying potential risks, and monitoring financial impact.
• Understanding of organizational structures and effective utilization of processes.
• Methodical and systematic approach to planning, prioritizing, and resource allocation.
• Capability to quickly understand and analyze complex issues, making sound judgments.
• Demonstrated specialist knowledge and expertise in the field, with a commitment to continuous professional development.
