About the Role

Qiddiya is seeking a Technical Director for MEP, Utilities & Infrastructure to lead technical planning, design, and execution within the Sport Business Unit. This full-time position, based in Riyadh, Riyadh Province, requires over 10 years of experience to ensure the delivery of world-class, efficient, and sustainable systems supporting sports venues and business unit objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and oversight for all Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP), utilities, and infrastructure design and implementation across sports projects.
  • Develop and enforce standards, guidelines, and best practices for MEP and utilities systems, ensuring compliance with local and international codes and regulations.
  • Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure integrated and efficient system designs.
  • Manage supplier and contractor performance to ensure high-quality installation and commissioning of MEP and infrastructure systems.
  • Lead risk assessments, feasibility studies, and value engineering exercises to optimize system design and cost efficiency.
  • Monitor project progress, troubleshoot technical challenges, and ensure timely delivery within budget.
  • Promote sustainable design and energy-efficient solutions aligned with environmental objectives.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, tender documents, and contract packages related to MEP and infrastructure works.
  • Ensure safe work practices and regulatory compliance during all phases of project execution.
  • Mentor and develop engineering teams, fostering high standards of technical excellence.
  • Collaborate with business unit leadership to align technical strategies with overall organizational goals.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in MEP, utilities, and infrastructure design and management, preferably within large-scale sports or entertainment projects.
  • Proven track record in managing multidisciplinary engineering teams and delivering complex infrastructure projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of local and international engineering codes, standards, and regulations.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong project management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, and stakeholder management.
  • Experience with sustainable engineering practices and innovative technologies.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
  • Familiarity with relevant design and analysis software tools.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position located in Riyadh, Riyadh Province. The role involves leading technical aspects for major sports facilities within the Qiddiya development.
