About the Role
King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre is seeking a dedicated Technologist, Nuclear Medicine to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time position requires a professional with 2-5 years of relevant experience in the field of nuclear medicine.
Role Overview
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for performing a range of Clinical Nuclear Medicine (CNM) diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. This role involves meticulous attention to patient care, quality assurance, and adherence to established protocols and safety standards within a specialized medical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Review exam requisitions and protocols, consulting with supervisors as necessary, and preparing for scheduled examinations.
- Perform imaging procedures with a focus on patient care, image quality, and efficient time management, communicating with CNM physicians to ensure satisfactory results.
- Prepare and conduct quality control checks on radiopharmaceuticals, including assessments of chemical purity and calibration.
- Adhere strictly to physician’s orders, selecting appropriate radiopharmaceuticals and dosages, and consulting with physicians when required.
- Explain procedures clearly to patients, administer radiopharmaceuticals, conduct studies, and report any issues to the supervisor promptly.
- Observe all radiation safety protocols, including the use of protective shielding, proper handling, and safe disposal of radiopharmaceuticals.
- Report equipment malfunctions or repair needs and accurately document all testing and study procedures.
- Participate actively in in-service training, continuing education, and the Process Improvement (PI) initiatives. Assist in the training and evaluation of students, interns, and trainees.
- Ensure full compliance with hospital policies, radiation safety regulations, and national standards, including ALARA principles and quality improvement programs.
Qualifications and Requirements
- An average annual performance appraisal score of at least for the last four (4) years.
- Fifty (50) hours of cumulative continued medical education (CME).
