Role Overview

Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is seeking a Total Lab Automation Project Manager to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time people manager role responsible for leading the successful planning, execution, and delivery of Total Lab Automation projects across the region. The position involves leading and developing a team of WITS associates while ensuring strong project execution, customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and effective cross-functional collaboration.

This role serves as a key leader for complex laboratory automation projects, partnering closely with customers, commercial teams, service, applications, informatics, and leadership teams. The objective is to ensure smooth implementation from project initiation through go-live and stabilization. The position requires strong people leadership, project management discipline, and a solid understanding of diagnostics, laboratory operations, and automation environments.

People Leadership and Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of WITS associates supporting Total Lab Automation projects.
  • Set clear priorities, expectations, and performance goals for the team.
  • Drive strong team engagement, accountability, capability development, and succession planning.
  • Manage team workload and resource allocation across multiple customer projects.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, customer focus, urgency, and continuous improvement.

Project Management and Implementation

  • Lead end-to-end execution of Total Lab Automation projects across customer sites in Saudi Arabia.
  • Define project scope, timelines, milestones, deliverables, risks, and resource plans.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in line with quality expectations.
  • Track project progress and proactively manage risks, issues, and escalations.
  • Provide regular project governance, updates, and visibility to key stakeholders.
  • Ensure successful go-live, handover, and stabilization following implementation.

Customer and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as a key customer-facing project leader throughout the implementation lifecycle.
  • Build strong relationships with customer stakeholders, including lab leadership and operations teams.
  • Partner closely with commercial, service, applications, informatics, supply chain, and leadership teams for aligned execution.
  • Manage customer expectations and support resolution of implementation challenges and escalations.

Operational Excellence and Commercial Support

  • Drive standardization and best practices in project execution and implementation processes.
  • Identify process gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities across project delivery.
  • Apply problem-solving and continuous improvement tools to enhance execution quality and customer outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality, regulatory, safety, and operational requirements.
  • Partner with commercial teams on project planning and implementation readiness for new automation opportunities.
  • Provide practical input on implementation feasibility, project timing, resource needs, and customer readiness.
  • Support sustainable business growth through strong automation project delivery and customer partnership.

Qualifications and Travel Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Biomedical Engineering, Medical Laboratory Science, Life Sciences, Clinical Diagnostics, Engineering, or Healthcare Operations.
  • Significant experience in project management, lab automation, clinical diagnostics, or related healthcare environments.
  • Prior people management experience leading a team.
  • Strong experience managing customer-facing implementation projects.
  • Experience handling multiple complex projects in parallel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Total Lab Automation, laboratory workflow solutions, or diagnostics automation projects.
  • Good understanding of clinical laboratory operations and implementation environments.
  • Experience working with healthcare customers in Saudi Arabia.
  • Strong cross-functional stakeholder management experience.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement tools and structured operating environments.
  • PMP, Lean, Six Sigma, or similar certification.

Travel: Travel across Saudi Arabia is required as needed to support customer projects and stakeholder engagement.
