This is a full-time, in-office position based in Riyadh, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Employees are expected to primarily work from the Applied Intuition office five days a week, with flexibility for occasional remote work or adjusted schedules to accommodate personal commitments.
The Role: Vehicle Operations Lead Middle East
Applied Intuition is seeking a Vehicle Operations Lead for the Middle East region, specifically in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role involves owning vehicle operations for the SDS platform across the region, beginning with the on-road commercial trucking program and expanding to additional vehicle platforms and customer programs as the company scales. The Lead will manage end-to-end operational execution for SDS on-road programs, from fleet and site readiness to daily operations, validation, and continuous feedback to engineering, ensuring SDS-enabled vehicles operate safely, compliantly, and efficiently on public roads. This position offers a perspective on the development of cutting-edge autonomy technology while collaborating with major industry players globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead regional vehicle operations, overseeing operational execution for SDS on-road programs, starting with commercial trucking and expanding to other vehicle platforms.
- Manage fleet and site readiness, daily execution, and operational performance across vehicle programs.
- Drive regional growth strategy, including the ramp plan for scaling operations across local programs.
- Develop operational playbooks covering safety, on-road execution, incident response, and escalation, applicable across various vehicle types.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, safety, legal, and OEM/fleet partners to align program milestones with safe and efficient execution.
- Implement safety protocols and best practices to meet regulatory standards in public-road environments.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Over 10 years of experience, with a proven track record in leading on-road commercial vehicle, autonomy, or complex fleet operations.
- Experience establishing and scaling multiple operational programs or vehicle lines.
- Demonstrated ownership of safety processes and incident response for public-road operations.
- Comfortable operating in hands-on, real-world environments with commercial vehicles.
- Experience partnering directly with OEMs, regulators, or fleet customers to achieve operational outcomes.
- Experience managing multi-site or international operations, considering local regulations and infrastructure constraints.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background at a truck OEM or commercial vehicle manufacturer (*, Daimler Trucks, Volvo Trucks, PACCAR, Isuzu, Toyota, Ford Pro).
- Experience with ADAS or on-road autonomy validation across various vehicle types.
- Familiarity with Tier-1 supplier relationships (*, Bosch, Continental, ZF, Aptiv).
- Knowledge of KSA/regional regulatory and infrastructure requirements for commercial vehicle operations.
Compensation and Benefits
Compensation for eligible roles at Applied Intuition includes base salary, equity, and benefits. The total compensation package may include equity in the form of options and/or restricted stock units, comprehensive health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance coverage, 401k retirement benefits with employer match, learning and wellness stipends, and paid time off. Benefits are subject to change and may vary based on the jurisdiction of employment. The actual base salary offered will be influenced by factors such as experience, credentials, educational attainment, skill level, and interview performance.
