The Role of VP of Forward Deployed Engineering

MOZN is seeking a VP of Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) to establish and lead the team responsible for deploying MOZN's AI solutions into production within client organizations. This full-time role, based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, involves leading a multidisciplinary team of engineers and data scientists who work directly with government and enterprise clients across Saudi Arabia. The VP will oversee the entire process, from initial problem definition to the deployment of operational systems, ensuring successful delivery outcomes and translating field learnings into repeatable playbooks and platform enhancements. This position requires over 10 years of experience and is suited for a leader with a background in customer-facing solutions, delivery, or engineering, who maintains technical proximity and can engage effectively with senior client stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and scale a multidisciplinary forward-deployed organization encompassing software engineering, data science, and AI.
• Recruit, develop, and retain engineers, data scientists, and technical leaders, setting clear expectations, career paths, and quality standards.
• Define the operating model for team staffing, work prioritization, and delivery measurement.
• Foster a culture of ownership, technical excellence, and accountability for client outcomes.
• Own the end-to-end delivery of AI solutions across engagements, from problem framing and solution design to production deployment and adoption.
• Ensure solutions reach production and are utilized, defining success metrics with clients and holding the team accountable.
• Lead escalations, mitigate delivery risks, and make informed trade-offs regarding scope, quality, and timelines.
• Partner with Sales and Presales to shape engagements, scope solutions realistically, and ensure smooth transitions.
• Act as a technical advisor to senior client stakeholders, translating business priorities into practical AI solutions.
• Navigate client procurement, security, data-governance, and approval processes.
• Represent MOZN's delivery capability in executive discussions, workshops, and steering committees.
• Set technical standards for architecture, integration, security, and quality across deployments, including on-premise, private cloud, and restricted environments.
• Review architectures and solution designs, providing technical guidance on complex problems.
• Ensure deployed AI systems are secure, reliable, monitored, and maintainable post-go-live.
• Translate field experience into repeatable deployment playbooks, reusable components, and accelerators.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to integrate client needs into the MOZN AI Platform and roadmap.
• Track delivery performance and report regularly to senior leadership on outcomes, risks, and capacity.

Required Experience and Qualifications

• Over 10 years of experience in leading customer-facing solutions, delivery, or engineering teams.
• Demonstrated ability to build and scale multidisciplinary technical organizations.
• Experience in managing end-to-end delivery of complex technical solutions.
• Proficiency in engaging with senior client stakeholders and translating business requirements into technical solutions.
• Strong technical acumen with the ability to review architectures and solution designs.

Work Environment and Location

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role involves working embedded with government and enterprise clients across Saudi Arabia, from initial problem definition to system deployment and adoption. The successful candidate will operate within a collaborative environment focused on delivering tangible business value through AI.
