Amazon is seeking a dedicated WHS Specialist to join its team in Riyadh.
The WHS Specialist Opportunity
This full-time position is integral to the logistics environment, focusing on the supervision of Health and Safety standards within a delivery station. The WHS Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring employee wellbeing and productivity, while also working towards the continuous improvement of operational functionality and efficiency across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Health and Safety initiatives and employee satisfaction within the designated delivery station, including supervising employee wellbeing and productivity.
- Collaborate effectively on Health and Safety projects across various Operations sites.
- Provide guidance on Health & Safety matters to all stakeholders, especially those relating to the designated area of responsibility.
- Review and audit arrangements for Health & Safety management, continuously improving these arrangements where appropriate.
- Plan and implement work systems focused on reducing Health and Safety risks, such as recommending suitable adaptations to machinery and processes.
- Ensure robust reporting regimes are in place for Health and Safety statistics.
- Develop written Health & Safety documentation, including procedures, tools, and training, in both English and the local language.
- Provide management with information and statistics related to the area of responsibility.
- Support business change through effective change management processes within the delivery station’s flexible environment.
- Direct behavioral culture change programs across large, complex, multi-shift operations.
- Implement and review Amazon’s global safety policies, ensuring that local legislative requirements are also met.
- Ensure contractor management safety processes are implemented.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a workplace health & safety (WHS) related field.
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification.
- NEBOSH or IOSH certified.
- Kawader certified Level 2.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in emergency response.
- Experience in worker's compensation case management.
Work Location
This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
