About the Resident Marine Biologist & Dive Instructor Role

Red Sea Global is seeking a Resident Marine Biologist & Dive Instructor to join its team in Umluj, Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. This full-time, site-based position requires 2-5 years of experience and combines expertise in marine science with professional dive instruction and guest engagement. The role is integral to delivering exceptional marine experiences and promoting conservation at The Red Sea destination, aligning with Vision 2030 and regenerative tourism principles.

Role Purpose and Objectives

As part of Red Sea Sports & Entertainment (RSSE), a subsidiary of Red Sea Global, this role supports the Galaxea brand, which manages water sports activities. The Resident Marine Biologist & Dive Instructor is responsible for engaging and educating guests on marine life and conservation, leading exclusive marine biology-focused dive experiences, and conducting recreational dives. A key objective is also to deliver dive training courses that meet international certification standards.

Core Responsibilities

• Report directly to the Dive Center Manager, supporting daily dive center operations.
• Deliver professional dive guiding, instruction, and marine interpretation to guests.
• Educate guests and visiting divers on local marine ecosystems, biodiversity, and conservation initiatives.
• Lead private marine biology dive experiences and recreational dives in accordance with operational procedures and safety standards.
• Teach dive courses to and above PADI standards, ensuring quality, safety, and consistency.
• Actively support dive retail and sales activities, promoting courses, experiences, and equipment.
• Deliver engaging marine life presentations and educational talks for guests and colleagues.

Conservation and Sustainability Integration

The role coordinates and implements Galaxea’s Conservation Diving Program across the designated asset, embedding marine conservation principles into daily dive operations and guest experiences. This involves integrating marine conservation messaging into dive briefings, debriefings, and guest interactions. The Resident Marine Biologist & Dive Instructor works closely with Sustainability and RSZA teams to ensure alignment with environmental considerations and supports marine conservation initiatives, citizen science activities, and environmental awareness programs.

Operational Standards and Dive Center Development

During the pre-opening phase, the role supports the development and launch of the dive center, collaborating with RSG departments to ensure operational readiness and successful handover. The incumbent will become fully familiar with local dive sites, marine habitats, and species within the operating area. Post-opening, the role upholds the highest standards of dive guiding and instruction, prioritizing safety and ensuring compliance with training agency standards. This includes maintaining accurate records for courses and activities, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives aligned with international best practices.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a related marine biology and professional dive instruction role.
• Demonstrated expertise in marine science, local marine ecosystems, biodiversity, and conservation principles.
• Professional dive instructor certification (*, PADI) with proven experience delivering dive training courses to international standards.
• Ability to deliver exceptional guest experiences through professional guiding, instruction, and marine interpretation.
• Strong commitment to safety, environmental responsibility, and operational excellence.
• Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with team members, management, and guests.
