Role Overview: Armament Senior Supervisor

The Armament Senior Supervisor is responsible for carrying out armament aircraft maintenance activities and supervising the consolidation training of assigned RSAF Technicians and Saudi National BAE Systems Trainees. This role supports the RSAF Typhoon Flying programme, ensuring aircraft achieve contracted Operational Ready Rates in accordance with industry best practices, BAE Systems procedures, the Maintenance Organisation Exposition, and the RSAF Regulatory Framework. The position is full-time and based in Taif, offering a competitive salary. The supervisor will also deputise for the Typhoon Maintenance – Armament Senior Supervisor during periods of absence.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform armament aircraft maintenance, including detailed troubleshooting and rectification.
• Execute flight line duties as directed.
• Raise Technical Publication Review Forms (TPRF) against approved data.
• Assist in raising Technical Requests (TRs) for aircraft-related anomalies.
• Support the work centre Senior Supervisor in ensuring accurate shift handovers.
• Adhere strictly to the use of approved data only.
• Provide 100% supervision to assigned RSAF or BAE Systems SN Trainee Technicians at level ‘A’.
• Provide and supervise consolidation training and mentoring to assigned RSAF or BAE Systems SN personnel for 1st signature (Technician) award.
• Provide training guidance and mentoring to nominated RSAF or BAE Systems SN personnel for 2nd signature (Supervisor) award.
• Provide Supervisory 2nd Signature (oversign) for engineering and maintenance tasks by RSAF or BAE Systems SN in support of consolidation training on operational aircraft.
• Maintain accurate log books for assigned RSAF or BAE SN technicians.
• Liaise with RSAF and BAE Systems management to identify training opportunities and potential shortfalls.
• Obtain necessary licences and authorisations to operate, support, and task various vehicles, and tow aircraft and support equipment. Act as fleet vehicle custodian if directed.
• Support the production of monthly progress reports on training progression.
• Assist the training cell by providing additional training and supervision to RSAF and BAE Systems personnel, including flight line servicing and aircraft tow duties.
• Provide trade cover for the flight line hit team and end of runway (EOR) troubleshooting and fixing crew.
• Undertake independent inspections of Safety Critical Systems (3rd Signature responsibility) in the absence of the Senior Supervisor.
• Deputise for the work centre trade senior supervisor during periods of leave or absence.
• Carry out Aircrew post-Flight De-briefs as required.
• Train RSAF personnel in the role of Supervisor.
• Undertake any reasonable task within the scope of the armament aircraft trade, as directed by Senior Supervisors and line management.
• Demonstrate specified behaviours in all work and interactions with maintenance personnel, in line with M&CA People Behaviours BAESKSA-ENG-MCA-GOV-005.
• Support and participate in reporting all Product Safety & Environmental occurrences, promoting a Just Culture.
• Promote and support the Salam Operations Quality Management System by understanding AS9110 requirements and fostering customer focus and continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Experience

• Essential:

  • Extensive post-qualification practical maintenance experience within an operational flying aircraft environment, supported by formal recorded workplace applied training, OR substantial years of experience on the same aircraft type.
  • Holds 2nd signature authority.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and proven ability to supervise all levels of engineering personnel.
  • A recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, a technical apprenticeship, or a suitable equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA, OR
  • Part 66 licensed (current or lapsed), or a suitable equivalent technical licence acceptable to M&CA.
  • Relevant type training (‘Q’ Course) and equipment-specific training if required.

• Desirable:

  • Working knowledge of EASA Part 145 & 147.
  • Thorough understanding of company processes and procedures.
  • Broad aerospace and defence company/industry knowledge.
  • Proven supervisory experience within the defined area.
