Role Overview: Asset Planner

This full-time role involves performing asset management and planning within the Fleet Management section of the Typhoon Support Centre (TSC) in Taif, KSA. The Asset Planner will report to the Fleet Plans and Statement of Requirement (SoR) Team Leader. The primary objective is to ensure that the RSAF Typhoon fleet’s Line Replaceable Items (LRIs) are effectively managed and maintained in accordance with RSAF fleet plans and mandatory continuing airworthiness requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive support and coordinated management of the Typhoon fleet’s LRIs, in coordination with the Integrated Logistics Operations Centre (ILOC), to ensure scheduled maintenance, upgrades, capability insertions, maintenance programme changes, and operational requirements are planned and accomplished effectively.
  • Interface directly with the RSAF at all levels to enhance their understanding of Typhoon LRI management requirements and priorities, while assisting with the development of Saudi National expertise in Typhoon fleet management.
  • Support the creation of tactical and strategic LRI management plans for endorsement by the TSC Commander (TSC Cdr), considering scheduled maintenance requirements, modifications, and capability upgrades.
  • Monitor lifing metric consumption across the Typhoon fleet LRIs and compile reports/recommendations for RSAF approval to support fleet planning activities and ensure effective distribution of life consumption.
  • Review Technical Instruction (TI) requirements with TSC Business Data personnel, Forward Operations, and Supply to assess impact on fleet LRIs and recommend effective embodiment strategy for endorsement by RSAF HQ.
  • Monitor maintenance scheduling effectiveness and compliance of Typhoon fleet LRIs against approved maintenance programme requirements.
  • Coordinate the review of reports and recommendations issued by the TSC In Service Data Analysis (ISDA) team in conjunction with TSC Technical Specialists and Forward Operations personnel to determine appropriate actions or initiate further investigation.
  • Initiate ad-hoc analysis of Typhoon sub-system data by the TSC ISDA team and relevant Technical Specialists to identify trends and opportunities for development and improvements.
  • Develop and maintain TSC Processes and Procedures relating to fleet LRI management and planning.
  • Generate and maintain status reports relevant to fleet LRI management.
  • Undertake any additional, reasonable tasks as requested by TSC and RSAF management.
  • Assist with providing structured On-the-Job training for RSAF and/or Saudi National fleet management staff, including training, coaching, work experience, and mentoring as appropriate.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Essential: Qualified to Degree level, or equivalent, in an Aeronautical/Mechanical engineering discipline, with experience in aircraft support/maintenance management.
  • Essential: Knowledge of aircraft fleet or LRI management principles and practices, including the requirements for continuing airworthiness management.
  • Advantageous: Knowledge of the Typhoon fleet and LRI management requirements of the Engineering Support System (ESS) and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite programmes.
  • Advantageous: Experience from within BAE Systems, or current service within the RAF/RSAF, to ensure familiarity with Typhoon fleet management requirements and maintenance management systems.
