The Role of Fabrication Supervisor

The Fabrication Supervisor deputises for a senior company employee within the Typhoon Maintenance Organisation in Taif. This full-time role involves overseeing fabrication aspects, ensuring compliance, and driving continuous improvement. The supervisor holds company line management responsibilities, including providing functional direction, guidance, and ensuring duty of care, welfare, and health & safety. The primary objective is to ensure effective delivery of all activities specified in the shop component repair plan and support the Salam Project's success against contracted Operational Readiness (OR) and Key Performance Measurements (KPM) for Maintenance Support Service.

Key Responsibilities

• Uphold a safety-first approach by implementing safety measures and guidelines to protect personnel, product, and operations, while supporting and promoting Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) and Product Safety & Environment (PS&E).
• Ensure adherence to BAE Systems Operational Framework, Life Cycle Management (LCM) practices, Maintenance & Continuing Airworthiness (M&CA) Mandates, Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE), and Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) Logistics Management Regulations (LMR) to meet contractual obligations.
• Enhance customer satisfaction by supporting maintenance, airworthiness, safety, and continual improvement, including developing new ways to improve the customer experience and highlighting potential new processes and procedures.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement (CI) throughout the maintenance organisation, encouraging innovative ideas and initiatives, and seeking opportunities to apply and adapt best industry practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in maintenance processes.

Accountabilities

• Review maintenance practices, challenge current methods, and identify potential areas for improvement within the organisation.
• Recognise and report any malpractice that could affect the airworthiness or safety of assigned components or personnel to the Senior Maintenance Manager.
• Ensure necessary facilities and resources are available in accordance with company policies to enable the organisation to perform duties and contractual obligations.
• Monitor personnel standards to identify negative trends, non-conformities, or motivational deficiencies.
• Be accountable and responsible for the development reports of all personnel under direct and indirect line management within their Area of Responsibility.
• Provide a trustworthy working environment where all employees understand acceptable and unacceptable behaviour, adhering to the company’s "Code of Conduct".
• Provide training, consolidation, and counterpart development activities to RSAF and BAE Systems personnel.
• Ensure all tasks are completed within designated timeframes to support Forward Maintenance and SMU activities.
• Maintain operational readiness of shop equipment in line with the shop component repair plan and schedule necessary calibrations, ensuring correct tooling and approved data are available.
• Raise appropriate media for deficiencies in approved data (*, TPRFs, TQs).
• Report and monitor any damage or deficiencies to equipment and infrastructure using correct media (*, IDR, MDR, CAR, SORT, 1400-61).
• Ensure all personnel undertaking maintenance in their Area of Responsibility are authorised.
• Maintain anti-FOD surveillance and report potential hazards, enhanced by regular oversight checks of the shop and components.
• Ensure all maintenance tasks meet the highest quality standards, including accurate recording on the airworthiness tool (ESS) of work carried out, test results, indications/values, consumables, and POL.
