Life Raft PSP and Parachute Fabrications Supervisor

About the Role

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is seeking a Life Raft, PSP, and Parachute Fabrications Supervisor to join the Typhoon Maintenance Organisation in Taif. This full-time role involves overseeing survival equipment, ensuring compliance, and driving continuous improvement, while fulfilling company line management responsibilities. The supervisor will provide functional direction, guidance, and ensure duty of care, welfare, and health & safety within their area of responsibility.

Role Objective and Support

The primary objective of this position is to ensure the effective delivery of all activities outlined in the shop component repair plan. This role is critical in supporting the success of the Salam Project by meeting the Maintenance Support Service contracted Operational Readiness (OR) and Key Performance Measurements (KPM). The supervisor will also contribute to enhancing customer satisfaction in maintenance, airworthiness, safety, and continual improvement efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Uphold a safety-first approach, implementing safety measures and guidelines, and promoting Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) and Product Safety & Environment (PS&E).
• Ensure adherence to BAE Systems Operational Framework, Life Cycle Management (LCM) practices, Maintenance & Continuing Airworthiness (M&CA) Mandates, Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE), and Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) Logistics Management Regulations (LMR).
• Review maintenance practices, identify potential improvements, and address any malpractice affecting airworthiness or safety.
• Ensure necessary facilities and resources are available, monitor personnel standards, and manage development reports for direct and indirect line management.
• Provide training, consolidation, and counterpart development activities to RSAF and BAE Systems personnel.
• Maintain operational readiness of shop equipment, ensure correct tooling and approved data, and report equipment deficiencies.
• Ensure all personnel undertaking maintenance are authorized, maintain anti-FOD surveillance, and ensure maintenance tasks meet quality standards.
• Conduct oversight checks for shop husbandry and escalate planning deficiencies or delivery issues with consumables and PPE.
• Maintain competency currency for Martin Baker Parachute Fabrications pack and Personal Survival pack authorizations, and hold 2nd Signature responsibilities.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Essential: A recognized qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, a technical apprenticeship, or an equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA.
• Essential: At least 7 years of post-qualification practical maintenance experience within an operational flying aircraft environment supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training, OR 3 years on the same aircraft type.
• Essential: Proven leadership skills and ability to supervise engineering personnel at all levels.
• Essential: Relevant type training and equipment-specific training if required.
• Essential: The successful candidate must obtain and maintain Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) membership at the appropriate level.
• Desirable: Thorough understanding of company processes and procedures, broad aerospace and defence industry knowledge, and proven supervisory experience.
• Desirable: An understanding of RAF and/or RSAF engineering operating procedures, a track record of meeting strict deadlines, and previous experience in delivering workplace training.
• Desirable: An understanding of ESS or similar electronic-based reporting systems.
