Red Sea Global is seeking an Environmental Coordinator to join REEF, its specialized subsidiary focused on delivering comprehensive environmental advisory services. REEF is dedicated to mangrove plantation enhancement, coral management programs, and in-depth baseline environmental surveys. The company is committed to responsible, science-led development, driving sustainability through innovative restoration strategies and long-term solutions that benefit both nature and communities.

This full-time position is based in Umluj, Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, and is open to professionals with 0-1 years of experience who are ready to contribute to sustainable environmental practices.

Role Overview

The Environmental Coordinator supports the execution of consultancy services related to mangrove monitoring, conservation, and enhancement. This role involves a significant fieldwork component, contributing to the implementation of field surveys, such as baseline assessments and monitoring protocols, as well as mangrove and terrestrial restoration activities for clients within and beyond Saudi Arabia. The Coordinator is responsible for conducting field operations, managing logistics, recording field data to support technical studies, and preparing progress reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct field surveys for mangrove monitoring and restoration, adhering to standardized protocols, including measurements of seedlings, tree parameters, environmental parameters using sensors, and sample collection.
  • Implement small-scale mangrove restoration activities, including nursery establishment and planting.
  • Coordinate labor for large-scale mangrove and terrestrial restoration activities, demonstrating and transferring technical knowledge, ensuring adherence to technical protocols and field standards, and reporting daily operations.
  • Ensure smooth fieldwork operations by planning ahead, which includes scheduling activities, booking transportation, and preparing equipment and materials.
  • Act as the field team lead when required, coordinating other field team members, assigning roles and tasks, and serving as a primary point of contact with upper management.
  • Train and transfer knowledge to junior team members.
  • Record data using standardized forms and perform quality checks on data recorded by other junior team members.
  • Collate data from the coordinated team and ensure timely reporting to senior team members.
  • Contribute to other terrestrial and marine fieldwork activities as required.

Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance

  • Apply all safety procedures during field activities, boat operations, and marine operations.
  • Adhere to and assist in implementing field health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure environmental best practices are followed and compliance with relevant national and international standards is maintained.

Candidate Profile

  • 0-1 years of professional experience in environmental coordination, fieldwork, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct field surveys, record data accurately, and contribute to restoration activities.
  • Strong organizational skills for logistics planning and team coordination.
  • Commitment to health, safety, and environmental best practices.

Work Environment

The role operates within a fast-paced consultancy environment, requiring high adaptability and the ability to deliver high-quality outputs under tight timelines. This position necessitates frequent field presence in coastal, marine, and intertidal zones.
