About Clinique La Prairie and the Role

Clinique La Prairie, established in 1931 in Montreux, Switzerland, is an award-winning destination recognized for its progressive health and wellbeing programs delivered within a luxurious Swiss hospitality environment. The resort in Umluj, Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, is seeking a full-time Paymaster to lead its payroll operations. This role is crucial for managing the business's largest cost and supporting the property's commitment to outstanding guest service and financial profitability within the GCC region.

Key Responsibilities

The Paymaster will be responsible for overseeing all payroll functions and contributing to financial analysis. Key duties include:

  • Process Monthly Payroll (60%):
    • Review earnings details for missed punches, manual timesheet corrections (ensuring appropriate documentation), sick/holiday pay, and payroll anomalies for salaried employees.
    • Accurately include all tips, commissions, service charges, and other pay into the payroll cycle.
    • Diligently prepare the full set of monthly payroll reports in compliance with audit requirements.
    • Compile payroll packets for approval by HRD, DOF, and GM.
    • Create and maintain Payroll Checklists, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and instructional documents for the payroll process.
    • Train new Heads of Department (HODs) and managers on payroll processing and expectations.
    • Audit system reports to ensure accuracy.
    • Post month-end payroll journals and prepare monthly payroll accruals (including leased labour) for posting to the General Ledger (GL).
    • Reconcile all payroll-related balance sheet accounts.
    • Ensure timely reporting and submission of GOSI and WPS, and strict adherence to KSA labour and payroll laws/regulations.
  • Reporting and Analysis (40%):
    • Distribute labor analysis reports with commentary a minimum of two times per week.
    • Review leased labor and analyze the effectiveness of staffing versus Business Volume, Forecast, and Budget.
    • Reconcile leased labour invoices with internal timesheet records and other supporting documents, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
    • Attend month-end P&L review meetings, providing analysis on payroll spend and guidance to HODs/managers on areas of focus.
    • Conduct bi-monthly Labor Meetings with the Executive Committee (EC) and HODs to review pacing on payroll spend and elasticity based on revenue changes.
    • Maintain notes from meetings and follow up on items as necessary.
    • Lead labour/payroll forecasting and budgeting across departments, in collaboration with HODs and EC.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Education: Minimum Bachelor’s level education in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or an equivalent field.
  • Professional Membership: Accounting professional membership such as CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent is highly desirable. SOCPA holder or eligibility to apply for membership is required.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in hotel finance management.
