Technical Office Engineer

About the Role

OHLA Group is seeking an experienced Technical Office Engineer to join their team in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, covering projects in Umluj and Tabuk. This full-time role involves leading and coordinating technical activities during the Irrigation RFP preparation stage and subsequent project execution phases. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between design, commercial, planning, and construction teams, ensuring solutions are technically sound, cost-effective, and aligned with client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead engineering and technical office activities for irrigation infrastructure projects.
• Review and coordinate engineering designs, drawings, specifications, and technical documents, ensuring compliance with Client requirements, project specifications, and applicable standards.
• Identify technical issues, design gaps, and potential constructability challenges, providing technical support throughout RFP and project execution phases.
• Coordinate between design consultants, engineering teams, construction teams, and other project stakeholders, managing technical interfaces between irrigation networks and other infrastructure/utilities.
• Prepare, review, and coordinate technical submissions, including proposals, calculations, method statements, and supporting documentation, ensuring alignment with client and project requirements.
• Review and verify quantities based on drawings and specifications, coordinating with Quantity Surveying/Commercial teams for accurate take-offs.
• Develop and review construction methodologies for irrigation works, ensuring practicality, safety, and alignment with site conditions.
• Monitor compliance with client requirements, specifications, approved standards, and applicable authority regulations, maintaining technical records.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven experience in technical office engineering, design coordination, quantity verification, technical submissions, methodology development, and construction support.
• Ability to ensure proposed solutions are technically sound, cost-effective, constructible, and fully aligned with Client requirements.
• Strong analytical and coordination skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to develop technically compliant and commercially optimized solutions for irrigation infrastructure projects.
• Experience identifying opportunities for value engineering and cost optimization without compromising quality or technical compliance.
• 5-10 years of relevant professional experience.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, with responsibilities covering projects in Umluj and Tabuk. The role requires close collaboration with various teams including design consultants, engineering, commercial, planning, and construction teams.
