Electrical Technician

About the Role

United Group is seeking an Electrical Technician to join their team in Yanbu Al Sinaiyah, Al Madinah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves ensuring the safe and reliable operation of electrical and electromechanical equipment across the company's feed mills, grain terminals, and stations. The successful candidate will work as part of a hands-on maintenance team, contributing to the continuous operation of critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on motors, MCC panels, VFDs, soft starters, cables, lighting, protections, control circuits, and electromechanical equipment according to approved schedules.
• Diagnose and rectify electrical faults and breakdowns, including investigating recurring trips, overheating, and loose connections, to restore equipment to service safely and efficiently.
• Replace defective components and verify connections, protections, and safe operating conditions before equipment handover.
• Install and terminate electrical equipment and cables according to approved drawings and specifications, and support testing, commissioning, and restart procedures after maintenance.
• Perform and record voltage, current, insulation-resistance, continuity, and earthing checks using calibrated instruments. Coordinate PLC or automation changes with the System Engineer.
• Apply lock-out/tag-out procedures, verify the absence of voltage, and follow electrical permits before commencing any job. Utilize insulated tools and electrical PPE, and report hazards, near misses, and incidents immediately.
• Complete work orders and checklists, accurately recording faults, readings, repairs, and parts used. Maintain cleanliness and GMP compliance of tools and electrical work areas.

Required Experience and Skills

• 2-5 years of experience as an Electrical Technician.
• Proficiency in installing, inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and electromechanical equipment, including motors, MCC panels, VFDs, soft starters, and various processing machines.
• Strong understanding of electrical safety protocols, including lock-out/tag-out procedures and the use of electrical PPE.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
• Experience with calibrated instruments for electrical measurements.
• Capability to work effectively as part of a maintenance team.

Work Environment

This role is based in Yanbu Al Sinaiyah, Al Madinah, Saudi Arabia, and operates within a hands-on maintenance team across various sites. The position requires active involvement in the installation, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment in feed mills, grain terminals, and stations.
