Assistant Restaurant Manager at The Ritz-Carlton

The Ritz-Carlton is seeking an Assistant Restaurant Manager for a full-time position. This role involves assisting in the daily supervision of restaurant operations, including Restaurants/Bars and Room Service where applicable. The Assistant Restaurant Manager will contribute to menu planning, maintain sanitation standards, and support servers and hosts during peak meal periods. The position requires 2-5 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Address employee questions and concerns.
  • Monitor employee performance to ensure expectations are met and provide feedback.
  • Assist in supervising daily shift operations and oversee the restaurant in the absence of the Director of Restaurants or Restaurant Manager.
  • Communicate departmental goals clearly and consistently in meetings.
  • Ensure employees have proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms.
  • Communicate food quality and service level issues to the Chef and Restaurant Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with all restaurant policies, standards, and procedures, including local laws for alcohol beverage service.
  • Manage operations to achieve or exceed budgeted goals.
  • Perform duties of restaurant employees and related departments as needed, including opening and closing shifts.
  • Interact with guests to gather feedback on product quality and service levels.
  • Supervise staffing levels to meet guest service, operational, and financial objectives.
  • Encourage excellent customer service and handle guest problems and complaints, escalating as necessary.
  • Set a positive example for guest relations and assist in reviewing comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees.
  • Supervise ongoing training initiatives and utilize available on-the-job training tools.
  • Communicate performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching and counseling to employees.
  • Provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates.
  • Analyze information and evaluate results to solve problems.
  • Recognize good quality products and presentations.

Required Experience

  • A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a relevant hospitality role.
