Captain

About the Role

Sheraton Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Captain to join their team in Medina. This full-time position involves overseeing service operations within banquet rooms, restaurants, and coffee breaks, ensuring high standards of presentation and guest satisfaction. The role requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Communicate service needs effectively to chefs and stewards during functions.
• Calculate charges for group functions and present checks to group contacts for payment.
• Ensure banquet rooms, restaurants, and coffee break areas are prepared and ready for service.
• Verify that proper centerpieces are displayed on all tables.
• Inspect the cleanliness and presentation of all china, glass, and silver before use.
• Engage with guests to ensure their satisfaction with the service.
• Set tables according to event type and established service standards.
• Relay additional meal requirements, allergy information, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen staff.
• Maintain the cleanliness of work areas throughout the day.

Operational Standards and Conduct

• Adhere to all company and safety and security policies and procedures.
• Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management.
• Complete all required safety training and certifications.
• Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
• Welcome and acknowledge all guests in accordance with company standards.
• Communicate professionally and clearly with others, and answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and support team goals.
• Listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
• Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards in all tasks.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
• Capability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 2-5 years of experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry. A strong understanding of service standards and operational procedures is essential for this position.

Additional Duties

The Captain will also perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
