Cardiology Assistant Consultant

About the Role

King Abdullah bin Abdelaziz University is seeking a Cardiology Assistant Consultant to provide medical care within the scope of their specialty and privileges. This full-time role involves contributing to the administration, education, and research initiatives at KAAUH, ensuring high-quality patient management and adherence to institutional values.

Job Purpose

The primary purpose of this position is to deliver comprehensive medical care for patients, aligning with the established scope of services and individual privileges. The Assistant Consultant will also actively participate in administrative duties, educational programs, and research activities within King Abdullah bin Abdelaziz University.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Consultants in clinical work by providing patient care at the appropriate level, in accordance with delineated services and granted privileges.
• Provide patient care across various settings, including consultation services, follow-up care, performing procedures, and sharing on-call duties.
• Undertake other clinical duties as assigned by the Supervising Consultant, Head, or Chairman.
• Deliver patient care in outpatient clinics, inpatient wards, the emergency room, operation room, day unit, and intensive care units.
• Practice patient care based on up-to-date best practices and scientific evidence, under the supervision of a consultant.
• Adhere to KAAUH quality improvement initiatives and practices, ensuring a safe healing environment for patients, including compliance with hospital accreditation requirements.
• Empower patients and their families to actively participate in their health and wellness, contributing to an excellent patient experience.
• Demonstrate stewardship through accountability, appropriate resource utilization, and a focus on efficient patient care processes.
• Supervise residents under their responsibility, contributing to their professional development and providing feedback on performance evaluations.

Experience and Work Type

This role requires 0-1 years of experience in a relevant field. It is a full-time position, with clinical duties, including on-call responsibilities, assigned equally and fairly among available associate and assistant consultants at the discretion of the Section Head and Department Chairman, in compliance with hospital policies.
