The Role of Veterinarian (Farming)

Almarai is seeking a skilled and dedicated Veterinarian to support its large-scale dairy farming operations. This full-time role focuses on ensuring the health, welfare, and productivity of dairy cattle through preventive care, diagnosis, and treatment. The Veterinarian will work closely with farm operations teams to manage herd health, prevent diseases, and support overall farm performance across assigned farms.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain the health status of dairy cattle through regular inspections and preventive programs.
• Diagnose, treat, and manage diseases, injuries, and overall herd health issues.
• Develop and implement vaccination, deworming, and biosecurity programs.
• Provide reproductive health support, including calving management and fertility monitoring.
• Collaborate with farm management and nutrition teams to optimize animal performance and milk production.
• Maintain accurate medical records, treatment logs, and compliance documentation.
• Train farm staff on animal handling, hygiene, and early disease detection.
• Ensure adherence to animal welfare standards and company policies.
• Support audits and regulatory compliance related to veterinary and farm practices.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent).
• Experience: Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in dairy farm or large-scale livestock operations.
• Knowledge: Strong knowledge of herd health, dairy production, and preventive veterinary practices.
• Skills: Experience in reproductive management and disease control.
• Environment: Ability to work effectively in farm environments and manage large herds.
• Communication: Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Technical: Familiarity with modern herd management systems.
• Advantage: International experience in dairy farm operations is an advantage.
