About the Role

Edition is seeking a Cook I to join their team in the Red Sea region. This full-time position involves preparing meals according to established standards and supporting kitchen operations. The role requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare special meals or substitute items as required.
• Regulate the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
• Thaw food from freezer storage in the refrigerator.
• Portion and plate food items accurately.
• Maintain accurate food logs and monitor the quality and quantity of prepared food.
• Provide support during busy periods as needed.
• Inform the chef of excess food items for daily specials.
• Communicate special menus and unavailable items to food and beverage service staff.
• Ensure the quality of all food items.
• Prepare food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and cooking checklists.
• Prepare cold food items.

Operational Duties

• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating employees, serving as a role model.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding safety and security.
• Report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager.
• Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.
• Anticipate and address guests' service needs.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues.
• Listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
• Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or an entire work shift.
• Capability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors or managers.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: A Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree is required.
• Related Work Experience: At least 3 years of related work experience.
• Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience is required for this role.
• Licenses or Certifications: None specified.
