The Customer Solutions Center

The Customer Solutions Center is a new structure within Mastercard designed to develop solutions and bundles for prioritized customer segments. It serves as a central hub for Mastercard capabilities within a geography, aiming to drive business growth by creating and delivering data-driven, scalable, needs-based solutions to new and existing customers. This is achieved by leveraging Mastercard’s extensive product and service offerings.

Role of the Director, Solution Architect

The Director, Solution Architect is a full-time position responsible for partnering with frontline teams during the solutioning process to maximize client impact. This role involves curating and aggregating solutions across various products for specific segments, assisting Account Managers and Directors in developing comprehensive, cohesive multi-product and multi-platform solutions. The Solution Architect plays a critical role in ensuring relevancy and driving differentiation across segments, contributing to improved relationships, market share, and revenue. This position reports to the Customer Solutions Center Lead and requires 0-1 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a Mastercard capabilities expert for an assigned segment.
• Analyze the value chain of assigned segments to identify trends, needs, and opportunities for Mastercard.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of Mastercard products, services, and corporate strategy.
• Collaborate with frontline teams to identify customer needs and opportunities through account planning, recommending needs-based solutions in coordination with Product, Service, and Marketing teams.
• Bridge the gap between the frontline sales team and product/solution expertise.
• Lead complex value proposition and solution development, supporting the sales process from pitch to closure.
• Work with the Customer Solutions Center Lead (CSCL) to identify the appropriate "squad" for solutioning complex or customized deals.
• Partner with Account Managers (AMs) and Business Development (BDs) to develop and quantify value propositions for integrated, customized solutions.
• Iterate with frontline teams to ensure solutions meet client-specific needs.
• Develop business requirements documents in collaboration with product specialists and technical architects.
• Engage relevant expertise within the CSC and across other CSCs as needed.
• Create and proactively build solutions for known market needs by bundling Mastercard assets.
• Identify external partners, such as fintechs, for solutioning when internal capabilities are not present.
• Replicate successful solutions and sales approaches.
• Share best practices with the Solution Architect community.
• Provide input to product/solution groups and segment leads to enhance product/solution and segment strategies.

Corporate Security Responsibilities

All personnel with access to Mastercard assets, information, and networks are responsible for information security. This includes adhering to Mastercard’s security policies and practices, ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of accessed information, reporting any suspected security violations or breaches, and completing all mandatory security trainings.
