Electrical Engineer

About the Role

Aviagen is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join their team in Al Murooj, Al Jawf. This full-time role involves overseeing electrical engineering aspects across various project stages, from design review to site supervision and quality control. The position requires 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Review electrical designs, load calculations, single-line diagrams, panel schedules, shop drawings, technical submittals, and method statements.
• Validate electrical equipment selections, technical material submittals, finishes, and the execution of all electrical components.
• Provide technical recommendations to enhance functionality, constructability, maintainability, operational efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
• Support design reviews and multidisciplinary BIM coordination efforts.

Site Supervision and Quality Assurance

• Supervise electrical works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, project requirements, and applicable standards.
• Monitor construction activities for proper installation and integration of electrical systems, including power distribution, transformers, generators, UPS systems, lighting, grounding, lightning protection, and low-current systems.
• Coordinate with civil, architectural, mechanical, process, and automation disciplines to ensure seamless system integration.
• Manage the full inspection cycle, including vendor, subcontractor, material, and testing-laboratory approvals; material verification; stage-by-stage inspection; testing, commissioning, operational readiness, and final handover.
• Participate in inspections, testing, commissioning activities, factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), and final handover procedures.
• Ensure all electrical installations adhere to project quality requirements and safety standards.

Coordination and Project Monitoring

• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and site supervisors on all electrical engineering matters.
• Support procurement activities through technical evaluation of suppliers, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Monitor project progress related to electrical activities, identifying potential risks, delays, and technical issues requiring corrective action.
• Prepare technical reports, site observations, punch lists, progress updates, and recommendations for project management and clients.

HSE Compliance

• Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements and site regulations.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in electrical engineering roles.
• Demonstrated ability to review complex electrical designs and technical documentation.
• Experience in site supervision, construction monitoring, and quality control for electrical systems.
• Strong coordination skills with various engineering disciplines and project stakeholders.
