Electrical Engineer

About the Role

ACWA Power is seeking experienced Electrical Engineers for full-time opportunities within ACWA Operations. This role focuses on planning, supervising, and improving electrical maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and safe plant performance. The positions are plant-based in Saudi Arabia, specifically across RO desalination and CCGT power plants.

Role Purpose

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all electrical maintenance activities adhere to approved maintenance plans, OEM requirements, and HSE standards. This involves overseeing various aspects of electrical systems to maintain high levels of plant reliability and operational continuity.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise preventive, corrective, and predictive electrical maintenance activities to ensure plant reliability and equipment availability.
• Oversee maintenance and troubleshooting of motors, variable-speed drives, switchgear, transformers, generators, and electrical distribution systems.
• Provide technical support for RO desalination electrical equipment or CCGT generators, excitation systems, protection systems, and electrical auxiliaries.
• Coordinate electrical testing, protection relay testing, equipment inspections, and planned maintenance outages in collaboration with Operations and OEM specialists.
• Investigate equipment failures, conduct root-cause analysis, review maintenance trends, and recommend reliability improvements.
• Manage maintenance work orders through CMMS/SAP, maintain technical documentation, and coordinate spare parts and procurement requirements.
• Supervise electrical maintenance personnel, provide technical guidance, and support team development and performance management.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety procedures, HSE requirements, Integrated Management System (IMS) standards, and applicable legal and contractual obligations.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this position should possess a strong background in electrical engineering with practical experience in power generation or desalination plants. The role requires a professional with a proven track record in managing electrical maintenance operations.

• 8-10 years of experience in a relevant electrical engineering role.
• Experience with RO desalination electrical equipment or CCGT generators and associated systems.
• Proficiency in managing maintenance work orders using CMMS/SAP.

This is a full-time, plant-based position located in Saudi Arabia. The role involves working within operational power and desalination plants, requiring adherence to stringent safety and operational standards.
