This full-time role for an Engineer, Environment III contributes to the company's growth and its commitment to environmental stewardship.
Role Overview
The Engineer, Environment III supports the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of environmental management programs across operations. This role ensures compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and Ma'aden standards by conducting environmental inspections, monitoring air, water, waste, emissions, and related controls. The incumbent also supports incident investigations, maintains environmental records, and prepares performance reports to reduce environmental risk and enhance site performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Environmental Compliance & Monitoring: Conduct routine environmental inspections and monitoring for air, water, waste, emissions, and other assigned environmental parameters. Verify compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, permits, internal standards, and site environmental procedures. Maintain monitoring records and support timely environmental reporting and documentation.
- Environmental Risk Control & Incident Support: Identify environmental risks, non-compliances, and improvement opportunities during field inspections and operational reviews. Support environmental incident reporting, investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action follow-up. Assist operations and maintenance teams in implementing practical controls to prevent recurrence.
- Audits, Inspections & Compliance Readiness: Participate in internal audits, regulatory inspections, and management system reviews. Track findings, evidence, and corrective action closure in line with Ma'aden documentation requirements. Support readiness for external audits and regulatory engagements.
- Environmental Management System & Continuous Improvement: Support implementation and maintenance of ISO 14001 or equivalent environmental management system requirements. Contribute to pollution prevention, resource conservation, waste reduction, and sustainability initiatives. Recommend improvements to environmental processes, work practices, and reporting tools.
- Training, Awareness & Stakeholder Coordination: Support delivery of toolbox talks, awareness campaigns, and environmental guidance for employees and contractors. Coordinate with operations, maintenance, contractors, and EHSS teams to promote environmental responsibility. Provide technical input for projects, change management reviews, and environmental assessments.
- Data Management & Reporting: Collect, validate, and analyze environmental performance data and trends. Prepare routine environmental reports, dashboards, and presentations for management review. Ensure environmental information is accurate, complete, and available for decision-making.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 3–5 years of experience in environmental compliance, environmental monitoring, or HSE within mining, industrial, manufacturing, or high-risk operational environments.
Preferred Certifications and Knowledge
- Certifications: ISO 14001 awareness or internal auditor certification, NEBOSH Environmental, OSHA, or equivalent is preferred.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with environmental regulations, permitting requirements, waste management, emissions control, sampling, inspections, and environmental management systems.
