Engineering Manager

About the Role

St. Regis Hotels & Resorts is seeking an Engineering Manager for a full-time position in the Red Sea region. This role involves overseeing all engineering and maintenance operations, with a focus on safety, security, and asset protection for the building, grounds, and physical plant. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for budget management, capital expenditure projects, preventative maintenance, and energy conservation initiatives, while also ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the physical plant, including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, and electrical systems.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with facility regulations and safety standards.
• Control heat, light, and power, and recommend best practices for energy conservation and economical facility operations.
• Develop specifications for service contracts and administer them to support building needs.
• Distribute preventative maintenance and repair work orders, monitoring timeliness and quality of completion.
• Oversee the maintenance of grounds, guestrooms, public spaces, restaurants, property vehicles, and recreational facilities.
• Develop and execute a long-term plan for preventative maintenance and asset protection.
• Develop project plans for renovations or new construction, obtain bids from contractors, and supervise construction to ensure timely completion within budgetary guidelines.
• Build relationships with external stakeholders such as city building/zoning departments, fire prevention bureaus, and vendors.
• Ensure the fire crew understands all procedures, equipment, and alarms.
• Conduct monthly property inspections to ensure buildings and grounds are maintained in excellent condition, including guest rooms and common areas to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Inspect and evaluate the physical condition of facilities to determine required work, recommending or arranging for additional services such as painting, repair, renovations, and equipment replacement.
• Select, order, or purchase new equipment, supplies, and furnishings, and manage parts and equipment inventory.

Property Standards and Compliance

• Ensure all building and equipment licenses and certifications are current.
• Maintain property life safety systems, including fire fighting equipment, sprinkler systems, and alarm systems.
• Assist in leading the emergency response team for all facility issues.

Customer Service and Leadership

• Demonstrate leadership in guest hospitality, providing excellent customer service and fostering a positive atmosphere for guest relations.
• Review guest feedback, satisfaction results, and other data to identify areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with property leadership to implement corrective actions for continuous improvement in guest satisfaction.

Qualifications and Experience

• Candidates should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience in engineering and maintenance operations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, capital expenditure projects, and preventative maintenance programs.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and safety standards for facilities.
