About the Role

Bechtel Corporation is seeking an ES&H Administration Specialist for the Ar Rjum Project. This full-time position is designated for Saudi Nationals and focuses on coordinating Environmental, Safety, and Health (ES&H) training and awareness programs to support continuous improvement in health and safety objectives.

Project Context

The Ar Rjum Project is a greenfield gold project situated in the Central Arabian Gold Region, approximately 200 km northeast of Taif. The project encompasses open pit mining, a processing plant, tailings management facilities, and associated supporting infrastructure.

Role Summary

In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating ES&H training and awareness initiatives. This involves collaborating with subject matter experts to review training materials and awareness strategies, and assisting with content delivery processes. Your efforts will contribute to optimizing training and communication to meet the ES&H program's continuous improvement goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and coordination of Environmental, Safety, and Health (ESH) processes and actions to enhance ESH program implementation.
  • Lead processes for classroom and instructor-led courses, hands-on training, printed media, and other methods to promote knowledge and awareness across all three ESH disciplines.
  • Coordinate the Craft-Based Leadership program, including training, recordkeeping, and dissemination of observational information and recommendations.
  • Apply the ESH Management System to achieve continual improvement, maintaining elements such as a risk register, legal register, and stakeholder matrix.
  • Identify ESH stakeholders and tailor training and communication campaigns based on risk assessment, demographics, trades, languages, and other factors.
  • Engage approved third-party vendors for training materials and translation services as needed.
  • Perform data management and prepare reports, presentations, EHS performance assessments, and trend analysis.
  • Review data from risk assessments, audits, and incidents to identify opportunities for improving training, communication, procedures, processes, and control/mitigation measures.
  • Gather, sort, and enter reporting data.
  • Prepare and submit reports required by project, corporate, and legislative authorities.
  • Prepare reports for the analysis and determination of both leading and lagging trends.
  • Prepare confidential and sensitive reports, maintaining record confidentiality as required.
  • Act as the project administrator for corporate ESH software programs, such as IRIS, and train ESH team members on their use.
  • Identify improvements to reporting processes and maintain reports and records for easy access and archiving.
  • Communicate with the Project ESH Manager on administrative matters and maintain working relationships with ESH and other administrative team members.
  • Participate in ESH meetings to identify and action administrative requirements.
  • Review data for completeness of information.

Education and Experience

Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) in environmental, safety, health, education, or a science-related discipline, coupled with 2-5 years of relevant experience. Alternatively, 6-9 years of relevant work experience will be considered. A certificate from a recognized organization for workplace administration skill sets is also required.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines, targets, and objectives.
  • Minimum of 4 years in an ESH team within the industrial construction or heavy engineering industry.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience directly supervising an administrative team.
