Filipino / Tagalog Team Lead

About the Role

SME Careers, a subsidiary of SuperAnnotate, is seeking a Filipino / Tagalog Team Lead for a remote, contract position in Saudi Arabia. This role focuses on overseeing quality, consistency, and trainer performance across Filipino/Tagalog AI training projects. The successful candidate will contribute to improving AI models by ensuring Filipino-language training data is natural, accurate, and culturally appropriate.

Role Responsibilities

As a Filipino / Tagalog Quality Assurance Lead, you will review AI-generated Filipino/Tagalog content and evaluate output quality against project guidelines. This involves providing precise written feedback and ensuring adherence to expected quality standards. The role requires 2-5 years of experience in a relevant field.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct quality monitoring by spot-checking Filipino/Tagalog items, identifying issues, providing feedback, and escalating critical concerns.
• Communicate updates to trainers and QAs regarding guidelines, project changes, workflow, and quality expectations.
• Respond to trainer/QA questions promptly, particularly concerning Filipino/Tagalog wording, tone, translation fidelity, Taglish usage, and cultural context.
• Manage trainer/QA activation by engaging inactive contributors, encouraging participation, tracking follow-ups, and flagging availability issues.
• Create and maintain Filipino/Tagalog project documentation, including style guides, trackers, FAQs, quality notes, and onboarding materials.
• Schedule and conduct onboarding/training calls for trainers and QAs to explain project expectations, workflows, rubrics, and language-specific style requirements.
• Ensure consistent application of Filipino/Tagalog language guidelines and understanding of project updates among all trainers and QAs.
• Identify recurring quality gaps, propose workflow improvements, and contribute to building scalable QA processes for Filipino/Tagalog-language projects.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in both Filipino/Tagalog and English.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Structured communication abilities.
• Ability to manage quality workflows across remote teams.
• Experience assessing work for accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, tone, cultural appropriateness, meaning preservation, and adherence to instructions and rubrics.
