The General Cashier Role

The General Cashier is a full-time position responsible for managing daily cash operations and ensuring financial accuracy within the hotel. This role reports directly to the Financial Controller and involves critical daily tasks related to cash handling, foreign exchange, and petty cash management. Candidates should have 0-1 years of experience in a relevant field.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect and verify daily remittances in the presence of a witness.
• Ensure an adequate supply of change for all cashiers.
• Update foreign exchange rates and facilitate bank deposits as required.
• Prepare the General Cashier Daily Report.
• Reimburse Front Office cashiers for disbursements made.
• Process petty cash payments on designated days.
• Balance the cash fund daily.
• Conduct surprise float counts for all cashiers holding floats, including non-operational cashiers in departments such as People & Culture and Security.
• Maintain accurate over and short records for each cashier and report review evidence to the Financial Controller.
• Update all cashier float records on a monthly basis.
• Track casual labor, valet dockets, official receipt books, and movement records.
• Perform any other assigned duties.

Qualifications and Experience

• 0-1 years of experience in a cashier or similar financial role.
• Demonstrated ability to handle cash and financial transactions accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively under the supervision of the Financial Controller.

Work Environment

This role is based at Swissôtel Al Maqam, a contemporary five-star hotel that is part of a new urban development. The hotel includes two restaurants, one executive lounge, two meeting rooms, and a business center, with private entrances for guest convenience. The General Cashier will operate within a dynamic hotel environment, contributing to the financial operations of a prominent hospitality establishment.
