About the Role

Wood is seeking a Geotechnical SME to serve as the Technical Authority across a portfolio of energy, oil & gas, mining, industrial, and infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time position for an experienced professional.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, encompassing proposals, concept studies, FEED, detailed engineering, construction support, and commissioning. This role acts as the highest level of technical authority within the geotechnical discipline, providing specialist expertise, ensuring engineering excellence, strengthening technical governance, and supporting the delivery of safe, innovative, and high-quality engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialist expertise in ground engineering and foundation solutions.
• Act as the Technical Authority across multiple projects.
• Lead technical reviews during Concept, FEED, and Detailed Design phases.
• Perform independent design assurance and peer reviews.
• Resolve complex engineering challenges and provide specialist guidance.
• Support proposals, client workshops, and business development activities.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to the development of technical capability within teams.
• Develop and maintain engineering standards and best practices.
• Contribute to technical assurance and build trusted relationships with clients and key stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Recognized industry expertise with a proven track record of solving complex engineering challenges.
• Demonstrated ability to influence clients and mentor engineering teams.
• Experience driving technical excellence across major international projects.
