Geotechnical Engineer

About the Role

Fugro is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Geotechnical Engineer to join its team in Dammam, Eastern region. This full-time position requires 5-10 years of experience and involves providing geotechnical engineering services in accordance with standard practices and client specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide services in accordance with standard practices to meet client requests and contract specifications.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of geotechnical methods, design practices, and Fugro procedures for engineering analysis and reporting.
• Study project requirements, organize, and implement appropriate techniques to develop engineering reports in consultation with Senior Engineers, Geologists, and the Engineering Manager.
• Assist in planning, preparing method statements, and quality plans for field investigations, and supervise field and office personnel on a project basis as instructed by a Senior Engineer.
• Follow up on projects and liaise with project managers or site engineers to ensure all engineering requirements are met during fieldwork, and that all field tests and sample collection comply with project specifications.
• Manage data from site, laboratory, and office to ensure all collected data is reported in correct formats; check borehole logs, field and lab test data, schedules, and laboratory programs for compliance with codes and practices, and obtain client approval.
• Discuss report structures with Senior Engineers and clients, then prepare Factual and Interpretative Engineering Reports. Develop foundation soil parameters, design assessments, engineering analyses, and prepare final reports for approval. Review and check reports and engineering analyses by others as a peer reviewer.
• Control the quality of work during projects. Inform Senior Engineers and the Engineering Manager to take immediate corrective action and address deviations with project team members.
• Provide support to Senior Engineers and Senior Engineering Geologists to obtain client approval for final reports.
• Act as Product Manager for selected Fugro products, gaining expertise through literature and studies, and utilizing Fugro learning portals to develop and share knowledge.
• Contribute actively to the implementation of published Quality Assurance, Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures in the workplace.
• Liaise with the Commercial Department regarding any contractual or commercial issues.

QHSSE Accountabilities

• Ensure that Fugro policies and procedures are understood, implemented, and adhered to by all employees.
• Work in accordance with Fugro Procedures to achieve consistent and sustainable results. Non-conformance with processes and procedures may result in disciplinary measures.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering.
• Strong understanding of geotechnical methods and design practices.
• Proficiency in engineering analysis and reporting.
