Sr. Geotechnical Engineer

About the Role

AECOM is seeking a highly experienced Sr. Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time position requires a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering, construction, and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing geotechnical investigations, analysis, design, and site activities within an engineering consultancy environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee geotechnical engineering activities across construction and infrastructure projects.
• Review geotechnical investigations, soil reports, site investigation data, and laboratory test results.
• Perform and review geotechnical analysis and design for foundations, earthworks, slopes, retaining structures, and excavation works.
• Provide technical recommendations based on geotechnical conditions and project requirements.
• Review contractor submissions, method statements, technical reports, and design documents.
• Conduct site inspections and monitor geotechnical and earthwork activities.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, and other engineering disciplines.
• Identify and resolve geotechnical issues during design and construction stages.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, applicable codes, and engineering standards.
• Provide technical guidance to the geotechnical engineering team and support project management.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering and construction projects.
• Strong experience in geotechnical investigations, analysis, design, and site supervision.
• Previous experience working with engineering consultancy firms is required.
• Experience in large-scale construction and infrastructure projects is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, foundations, earthworks, slopes, and retaining structures.
• Saudi/GCC project experience is preferred.
