HVAC Technician (Specialized in LG VRF System & FAHU)

About the Role

SNC-Lavalin Fayez Engineering is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician (Specialized in LG VRF System & FAHU) to join their team. This full-time role involves the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across residential, commercial, or industrial facilities. The primary objective is to ensure HVAC systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with project specifications and applicable standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, test, commission, maintain, and repair various HVAC systems, including chillers, AHUs, FCUs, DX units, VRF/VRV systems, and split & packaged units, as well as exhaust/fresh air systems.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance according to established schedules.
• Diagnose system faults and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control issues effectively.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Ensure proper refrigerant charging, pressure testing, vacuuming, and leak detection procedures are followed.
• Monitor system performance and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with HSE standards, local codes, and project quality requirements.
• Maintain accurate service reports, maintenance logs, and records.
• Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and other trades as necessary.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns when required.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma/ITI in HVAC, Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 3–7 years of hands-on HVAC experience, preferably in project or facilities-based environments.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
• Experience in GCC/UAE projects is preferred.
• Familiarity with international standards such as ASHRAE, SMACNA, and CIBSE is preferred.
