Job Description

About the Role

Nawras Power Company is seeking a Junior Mechanical Technician to join their team in the Eastern region of Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is suitable for candidates with 0-1 year of experience and focuses on supporting the safe and effective maintenance of plant mechanical equipment. The Junior Mechanical Technician will assist with various maintenance activities under supervision, ensuring adherence to company procedures and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the inspection, servicing, dismantling, repair, and reassembly of plant mechanical equipment, including pumps, compressors, turbines, valves, gearboxes, and piping systems.
  • Support preventive maintenance activities such as lubrication, cleaning, component checks, and replacement of worn parts.
  • Aid senior technicians in troubleshooting and corrective maintenance tasks.
  • Participate in planned shutdowns, equipment overhauls, and emergency maintenance as assigned.
  • Conduct basic visual inspections under supervision, reporting any signs of leakage, wear, damage, or abnormal equipment conditions.
  • Assist with mechanical measurements using various instruments and support equipment checks and testing post-maintenance.
  • Prepare tools, spare parts, and consumables for maintenance work and use tools safely after instruction.
  • Assist with completing maintenance checklists, inspection reports, and work orders.

Safety, Quality, and Housekeeping

  • Adhere to site safety rules, approved work instructions, and applicable quality and environmental procedures.
  • Comply with Permit to Work and lockout/tagout requirements before participating in maintenance activities.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment and attend safety briefings and toolbox talks.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workshop and work area.
  • Report hazards, near misses, defective tools, and unsafe conditions promptly.

Tool Management and Documentation

  • Clean, inspect, and store tools correctly after use, following tool control procedures.
  • Report missing or damaged equipment.
  • Assist with handling mechanical components using approved methods and appropriate supervision.
  • Learn to read mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and maintenance procedures.
  • Develop familiarity with the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Qualifications and Experience

  • 0-1 year of experience in a relevant field.
  • Ability to perform tasks within the limits of training and authorization, seeking guidance when required.
  • Willingness to participate in technical training and practical learning activities.

Working Conditions

This is a site-based role within a plant and workshop environment. The successful candidate must be willing to work shifts and support planned shutdowns as required, following appropriate training. Travel to assigned sites may also be required. The role demands the ability to safely carry out assigned maintenance duties using appropriate protective equipment, tools, and lifting aids.
