Mechanical Technician

About the Role

Acwa China is seeking a Mechanical Technician to join their team in Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time position requiring 5-10 years of experience. The primary objective of this role is to provide mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance for all mechanical equipment at the site, operating on an ON-OFF cycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform prompt troubleshooting and repair of mechanical breakdowns.
• Execute planned and reactive maintenance in accordance with approved procedures.
• Diagnose faults and repair mechanical systems across various site equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, and inventory.
• Ensure continuous plant operation with minimal downtime.
• Support other disciplines as required, providing operational assistance when necessary.

Scope of Work

This role encompasses a dual focus, primarily on maintenance, with additional responsibilities for operational support. The Mechanical Technician will be responsible for equipment including PV power generation and distribution systems, RO desalination plants, and bio-diesel generators.

Compliance and Safety

• Ensure strict compliance with all relevant company policies, procedures, and instructions for controlled and consistent work execution.
• Adhere to all safety, quality, and environmental standards to safeguard personnel and maintain service quality.
• Responsible for isolations and permits to work.
• May act as Isolation Authority based on authorization, in coordination with the Central Operations Team.

Work Environment and Relationships

The role requires the ability to work independently, planning and managing tasks efficiently with minimal supervision, while delivering quality work under pressure and meeting deadlines. Remote guidance will be provided by the Mechanical Engineer. Maintaining professional and cordial relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and other stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical systems.
• Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and documentation.
• Strong understanding of safety standards and maintenance procedures.
