Mechanical Technician

About the Role

ACWA Power is seeking a Mechanical Technician for a full-time position. This dual role primarily focuses on maintenance, with additional responsibilities for operational support as required. The Mechanical Technician will be based at the site on an ON-OFF cycle, responsible for mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance of all mechanical equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and instructions for controlled and consistent work execution.
• Adhere to safety, quality, and environmental standards to safeguard personnel and maintain service quality.
• Promptly troubleshoot and repair mechanical breakdowns.
• Execute planned and reactive maintenance following approved procedures.
• Diagnose faults and repair mechanical systems.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and inventory.
• Ensure continuous plant operation with minimal downtime.
• Independently plan and manage tasks efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Deliver quality work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Equipment and Systems

The role involves maintaining mechanical equipment across various systems, including PV power generation & distribution systems, RO desalination plants, and bio-diesel generators.

Technical Knowledge and Skills

• Proficiency in mechanical systems, fault diagnosis, and the use of test instruments.
• Knowledge of vibration monitoring, pump/motor alignment, welding, and RO plant equipment maintenance.

Experience and Work Environment

Candidates should have 5-10 years of relevant experience. The role requires independent work with remote guidance from the Mechanical Engineer. The technician must adhere to company safety standards and maintenance procedures at all times. Professional and cordial relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and other stakeholders are essential.

Decision-Making Authority

The Mechanical Technician is responsible for isolations and permits to work. They may act as an Isolation Authority based on authorization, in coordination with the Central Operations Team, and will support other disciplines when required.
