About the Role
Thales is seeking a Maintenance and NPI Technician to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role is integral to ensuring the reliable, safe, and efficient operation of field equipment through effective maintenance and supporting new product introduction (NPI) initiatives, thereby upholding high standards of operational excellence and continuous improvement.
The primary objective of this position is to conduct comprehensive electrical and mechanical maintenance, support new product introduction activities, and contribute to ongoing improvement efforts, all while strictly adhering to safety and maintenance standards. The role is vital for ensuring the seamless operation of critical infrastructure and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair faults in electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical equipment.
- Execute scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
- Report equipment issues, breakdowns, and recurring faults clearly and promptly to the Maintenance Manager.
- Utilize technical drawings, manuals, and diagnostic tools to perform maintenance activities with accuracy.
- Provide support for machinery installation, commissioning, and upgrades.
- Respond effectively to emergency breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
- Ensure strict compliance with safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), and company policies.
- Accurately record all maintenance activities, spare parts usage, and equipment condition.
- Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to resolve complex technical issues.
- Support root-cause analysis of equipment failures and the implementation of corrective actions.
- Take responsibility for your own safety and the safety of others, as far as is practicable.
- Be aware of and actively participate in achieving Thales' HSE policy and objectives.
- Comply with local HSE laws and legislation.
- Use safety equipment, including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as required and intended.
- Lead by example and actively encourage departments to identify ways to conserve water and energy, minimize waste generation, and promote recycling.
- Exercise the right to stop work if you believe your activities may affect your health and safety or that of others, and report such conditions immediately to your line manager and the HSE department.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician.
- Strong knowledge of PC software.
- A keen willingness to learn new technologies.
- Hands-on experience with industrial machinery and production equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills using electrical and mechanical diagnostic tools.
- Knowledge of safety standards and maintenance best practices.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to emergency situations.
- Good teamwork and collaboration skills across maintenance, engineering, and operations teams.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, tools, and equipment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accurate documentation.
