Mechanical Technician

About the Role

Acwa is seeking a dedicated Mechanical Technician to join their team in Saudi Arabia. This full-time role focuses on the safe installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of heavy rotating machinery, primarily within power generation applications. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Job Purpose

The primary responsibility of the Mechanical Technician, specializing in Steam and Gas, is to ensure the safe and efficient execution of installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair tasks for heavy rotating machinery. This machinery is predominantly used in power generation. The technician will collaborate closely with Supervisors, HSE personnel, and the Operations Department to achieve operational goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret schematic drawings and technical documentation to determine appropriate work procedures.
• Dismantle and assemble machinery and equipment using a variety of hand, power, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools.
• Move machinery, parts, and equipment utilizing hoists, cranes, chain falls, and trucks.
• Align machinery and equipment using hoists, squares, micrometers, dial indicators, or based on laser alignment equipment specialist recommendations.
• Perform machine and component inspections using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, rules, and calipers.
• Manage and control tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Perform other assigned duties as required.

Experience and Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in a relevant mechanical technician role.
• Proven ability to read and interpret schematic drawings and technical documentation.
• Proficiency in using various hand, power, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools.
• Experience with precision measuring equipment.

Working Relationships

Internally, the Mechanical Technician will work closely with Outage Managers, Field Service Engineers, and Supervisors. Externally, building rapport with plant crews and contractors is essential for successful collaboration and project execution.
