About the Role

Wood is seeking a Lead Procurement professional to join its Projects business. This full-time role is based at a remote site in Saudi Arabia and is critical for the development of a new gold mine and processing facility. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing procurement activities for this significant project.

Role Context and Contribution

The Lead Procurement position is central to ensuring efficient and compliant procurement processes within the project lifecycle. This involves close coordination with various stakeholders and a focus on strategic procurement management to support the timely and effective delivery of the gold mine and processing facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and assess the EPCM contractor’s procurement plans, material requisitions, and procurement schedules.
  • Coordinate the technical evaluation of vendor proposals, including bid tabulations (TBE), vendor selection processes, and commercial bid evaluations (CBE).
  • Review and validate purchase orders (POs), vendor documentation, logistics strategies, and quality assurance processes.
  • Participate in and coordinate factory acceptance tests (FATs), vendor inspections, and expediting activities.
  • Support the management of long-lead items, equipment tracking, and resolution of vendor-related issues.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to ensure timely and accurate integration of vendor data into project deliverables.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in procurement or a related field.
  • Experience within at least one of the following sectors: Mining, Oil & Gas, EPC, or EPCM environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams, where applicable.
  • Preference will be given to Saudi nationals.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong understanding of key contracting principles, contract terms, and the development and implementation of contracting policies.
  • Solid awareness of corporate and project procedures, as well as client contract structures and policies.

This is a full-time position located at a remote site in Saudi Arabia. The role requires dedication to supporting a major industrial project in a dynamic environment.
