About the Life Guard Role

St. Regis Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Life Guard to join their team in the Red Sea region. This full-time position involves ensuring the safety of swimmers and maintaining the recreational facility. The role requires vigilance in monitoring swimming areas and providing assistance when needed, while also promoting a relaxing atmosphere for guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize appropriate rescue techniques for swimmers requiring assistance.
• Monitor swimming areas for dangerous conditions, unusual activities, and distressed swimmers.
• Promote and enforce the rules and regulations of the recreational facility.
• Identify situations where guests may be unable to safely participate in an activity and inform the supervisor or manager.
• Provide assistance to injured guests until emergency medical services arrive.
• Contribute to an entertaining and relaxing atmosphere for guests.
• Obtain, fold, and stack towels according to company procedures.
• Wash, mop, and clean the pool deck.
• Report accidents, injuries, and hazardous working conditions to the manager, adhering to safety training and certification requirements.

Operational Duties and Safety Compliance

• Adhere to all chain safety policies and procedures, reporting maintenance issues, accident risks, accidents, or injuries.
• Maintain a clean and professional uniform and appearance.
• Respect the confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
• Support colleagues and treat them with dignity and respect, contributing to team goals.
• Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.
• Greet and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, using clear and professional language.
• Perform other tasks as requested by managers that are consistent with the position.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds (* kg) without assistance.
• Capability to assist in moving, lifting, carrying, transporting, and placing objects weighing more than 75 pounds (34 kg).
• Capacity to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or a full shift.
• Ability to move at the speed required to respond to work situations (*, running, walking, jogging).
• Visual inspection of tools, equipment, and machinery to identify defects.
• Grasping, turning, and manipulating objects of different sizes and weights requiring excellent motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Reaching objects overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Moving on sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, climbing ladders, and ascending/descending stairs and service ramps.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education Level: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Related Work Experience: No related work experience is required (0-1 years).
• Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience is required.
