About the Role

The Ritz-Carlton is seeking a Manager Catering Sales to join their team. This full-time role involves managing catering sales efforts, focusing on local corporate and social business. The position is responsible for achieving catering revenue goals by actively up-selling opportunities and ensuring timely and proper turnover for service delivery. The incumbent will implement brand service strategies and drive customer loyalty through service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage sales efforts for the hotel, including local corporate and social catering.
  • Collaborate with off-property sales channels to ensure coordinated and complementary sales efforts.
  • Respond to incoming catering opportunities for the hotel.
  • Identify, qualify, and solicit new catering business to achieve personal and hotel revenue goals.
  • Analyze market conditions, including competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, and supply and demand, to effectively position the hotel.
  • Close optimal business opportunities for the hotel based on market conditions and needs.
  • Utilize negotiation and creative selling skills to close business and negotiate contracts.
  • Design, develop, and sell creative catered events.
  • Maximize revenue through up-selling packages and creative food and beverage options.
  • Manage catering sales revenue and operational budgets, and provide forecasting reports.
  • Develop menus that drive sales.
  • Execute and support operational aspects of booked business, including generating proposals, writing contracts, and customer correspondence.
  • Participate in and practice daily service basics of the brand.
  • Monitor the effective resolution of guest issues arising from the sales process by channeling them to property leadership or other stakeholders.
  • Ensure successful performance by increasing revenues, controlling expenses, and providing a return on investment.
  • Interact effectively with sales, kitchen, vendors, competitors, local community, catering associations, and other hotel departments to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Execute and support the company’s Customer Service Standards and the hotel’s Brand Standards.
  • Provide exemplary customer service to drive satisfaction and loyalty by assisting customers and ensuring their satisfaction before and during their program/event.
  • Understand customer needs and recommend appropriate features and services to meet and exceed expectations, building relationships and loyalty.
  • Understand the hotel’s primary target customer and service expectations to offer effective business solutions.
  • Develop a close working relationship with operations to ensure strategy execution at the hotel level.
