About Maaden and the Role

Maaden, a leading mining company, is seeking a Manager OT Infra Structure Hosting & Connectivity to join its team in Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is critical for overseeing and optimizing the operational technology (OT) infrastructure across the company's diverse sites. The role focuses on ensuring the consistent, safe, and effective performance of industrial control systems.

Role Purpose and Scope

The Manager OT Infra Structure Hosting & Connectivity leads Maaden’s OT systems and controls function. This involves establishing and upholding consistent standards for industrial control systems, ensuring their safe operation and effective performance across all company locations. The role acts as the central authority for control systems, dedicated to maintaining reliable, standardized, and well-governed OT environments throughout Maaden's operations.

Core Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the enterprise roadmap for OT systems and controls, encompassing PLCs, DCS, SCADA, and control system integrations.
• Guide system selection processes, define configuration standards, and formulate upgrade strategies for control platforms.
• Provide support to site teams in the deployment and ongoing maintenance of compliant control systems.
• Promote and implement safe-by-design control system architectures and operational practices.
• Support performance monitoring, diagnostics, and continuous improvement initiatives for control systems.
• Lead root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions for control system reliability issues.
• Design and deploy ‘closed loop by default’ systems to advance autonomous operations beyond conventional Advanced Process Control (APC).
• Define control system integration standards with OT infrastructure, data platforms, and enterprise systems.
• Partner with OT Infrastructure, Storage, Networking & Connectivity teams to ensure control systems are deployable and fully operable.

OT Systems and Standards Ownership

This position holds direct ownership of OT systems and controls standards. This includes critical areas such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) integration. The role is also responsible for comprehensive control system governance, ensuring that all industrial control systems adhere to established standards, promoting uniformity and operational excellence across Maaden's diverse operations.

Required Experience and Expertise

Candidates for the Manager OT Infra Structure Hosting & Connectivity position should possess 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in managing and governing OT infrastructure, hosting, and connectivity. A strong background in industrial control systems, including PLCs, DCS, and SCADA, is essential, coupled with proven expertise in system integration, operational reliability, and the development of enterprise-level OT roadmaps.
