Role Overview

The Manual Lathe/Milling Machinist II – Machine Shop is responsible for machining, repairing, and refurbishing downhole tools, tubular products, and oilfield equipment using manual lathes. This full-time role involves precision machining, API thread cutting, inspection, and equipment maintenance, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and set up manual lathe/milling machines.
• Machine, repair, and refurbish downhole tools and tubular products.
• Cut and recut API, premium, tubing, and casing threads.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Perform dimensional inspections using precision measuring tools.
• Conduct routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Ensure compliance with API, quality, and safety requirements.
• Maintain production and inspection records.
• Support continuous improvement, 5S, and operational efficiency initiatives.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams.

Qualifications and Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in a relevant machining role.
• Proficiency in operating and setting up manual lathe/milling machines.
• Experience with API thread cutting and recutting.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Skilled in using precision measuring tools for dimensional inspections.
