Job Description
About the Role
Dr Sulaiman AlHabib Medical Centers is seeking a Medical Records Officer to manage, coordinate, and organize the activities of its medical records unit. This full-time role is crucial for maintaining the security, confidentiality, completeness, and accuracy of medical records in accordance with HMG policies and procedures.
Core Responsibilities
- Ensure the Medical Record Department meets the required standards to function properly and efficiently.
- Supervise and coordinate a system for safeguarding and updating active and inactive patient medical records.
- Conduct random audits of medical charts at regular intervals to determine the completeness of medical records.
- Verify records in accordance with HMG policies and procedures to monitor the accuracy of patient records and documentation.
- Maintain a referral training system to ensure proper follow-up of patient care referred for consultation.
- Actively participate in the yearly review or revisions of medical records protocols as needed.
- Suggest revisions to existing forms or develop new forms if required.
- Perform other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Team Leadership and Development
- Conduct ongoing training and evaluate the performance of Medical Record Staff.
- Orient new staff to the relationship and interactions of the medical records department with other units or departments.
- Manage the assigned team by ensuring appropriate workflow management through effective delegation of work.
- Monitor and review employee productivity and performance, staff development, and program implementation for efficiency, effectiveness, and work priorities.
Quality Assurance and Compliance
- Serve as an advisor on medical record policies and consult with medical staff.
- Ensure staff members participate in quality improvement and patient safety activities and receive training on quality assessment and improvement.
- Comply with standards and perform duties necessary to support, achieve, and maintain national and international accreditation.
- Ensure compliance with laws, rules, regulations, and standards.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates for this position should possess 7 years of relevant experience in medical records management.

- Participate in and lead person-centered care initiatives undertaken by HMG.
- Enrich patient experience with compassion, respect, and dignity.
