Role Overview

The primary function of this role is to provide expert peer review for academic manuscripts within the field of Marine Engineering. The reviewer will play a crucial part in the academic publishing process by offering objective assessments and recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate the novelty and originality of submitted manuscripts, assessing their contribution to the field of Marine Engineering.
• Critically assess the study design, methodology, and clarity of presentation to ensure reproducibility and scientific rigor.
• Verify that the manuscript adequately incorporates and cites relevant and up-to-date literature.
• Analyze the presentation of results and conclusions, ensuring they are well-supported by the data and are significant to the discipline.
• Provide clear, concise, and constructive feedback to authors and editors, highlighting strengths, weaknesses, and potential ethical concerns.
• Make recommendations regarding manuscript acceptance, revision, or rejection based on the evaluation.

Required Qualifications

• A Doctorate (PhD) or equivalent advanced degree in Marine Engineering or a closely related field.
• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in the field.
• A record of publishing at least 5 papers in SCI/SSCI journals within the past three years.
• A thorough understanding of research methodologies and ethical principles relevant to Marine Engineering.
• Prior experience as a peer reviewer for academic journals is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with online manuscript submission and review systems.
