About the Role

Fengkai Group Co., Limited is seeking a part-time PHD Peer Reviewer for Astronomy to support long-term, stable remote work opportunities in Saudi Arabia. This role requires a high level of academic expertise and a commitment to maintaining the integrity of scholarly publications.

Role Overview

The primary function of this role is to conduct thorough peer reviews of academic manuscripts submitted for publication. Reviewers will critically assess the scientific merit, originality, and methodological soundness of research papers within the field of Astronomy. This is a remote, part-time position.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate the originality and novelty of submitted manuscripts, assessing their contribution to the field of Astronomy.
• Critically examine the study design and methodology to ensure appropriateness, comprehensiveness, and clarity for reproducibility.
• Verify that the manuscript adequately incorporates and cites relevant and up-to-date literature.
• Analyze the presentation of results and conclusions, ensuring they are clearly supported by the data and are significant to the discipline.
• Provide clear, concise, and constructive feedback to authors and editors, highlighting strengths, weaknesses, and potential ethical concerns.
• Make recommendations regarding manuscript acceptance, revision, or rejection based on the evaluation.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A Doctorate (PhD) or equivalent advanced degree in Astronomy or a closely related field.
• A publication record of at least 5 papers in SCI/SSCI journals within the past three years.
• A thorough understanding of research methodologies and ethical principles relevant to Astronomy.
• Demonstrated experience in managing time effectively and adhering to deadlines.
• A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and objectivity throughout the review process.
• Prior experience as a peer reviewer for academic journals is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with online manuscript submission and review systems is beneficial.
