About the Role
Saudi Aramco is seeking a Power Systems Reliability & Asset Integrity Engineer to join the Power Systems Reliability & Asset Management Division (R&AMD) within the Power Systems Projects & Technical Support Department (PSP&TSD). This full-time role involves providing specialized technical support, consultation, guidance, and assistance to Power Systems operating areas and projects, focusing on engineering analysis and adherence to Reliability & Asset Integrity Management standards. The position requires 5-10 years of experience.
Department Overview
The PSP&TSD provides High Voltage (HV) Electrical Equipment specialized technical support to Power Operations. The R&AMD is responsible for administering Power Systems engineering studies, equipment life cycle management, reliability assessments, equipment failure analysis, digital transformation, and maintenance strategy reviews and enhancements. These efforts ensure a safe, reliable, and efficient power supply to all company hydrocarbon production and other support facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) model for electrical substations and the distribution network.
- Develop and align specific Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) processes focused on equipment function to identify and mitigate functional failures.
- Manage, update, and monitor the implementation of short and long-term asset management policies, strategies, initiatives, and work plans for power system assets, ensuring alignment with the overall company Strategic Asset Management Program.
- Manage Power Systems-owned substations by deploying an Asset Integrity Management System (AIMS) Program.
- Manage the Power Systems HV Electrical Equipment Life Cycle Management Process.
- Develop and manage single point of failure assessments to sustain power supply during equipment failures.
- Evaluate risk-based maintenance methodologies based on likelihood and consequences.
- Provide technical guidance and tools for risk and reliability assessment and management to work groups involved in distribution, substation, and transmission infrastructure replacement.
- Perform asset failure trending and analysis, identify repetitive failures, and conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to prevent reoccurrence.
- Perform data analysis using techniques such as Asset Performance Management (APM), RCA, and Six Sigma (6σ). Calculate and update asset KPIs and issue monthly reliability program reports (*, MTBF, MTTR, bad actors) detailing equipment health progress and reporting failures and successes.
- Oversee Power Systems asset performance and report technical KPIs for Transmission & Distribution (T&D) assets.
- Utilize SAP Failure Reporting Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) to document and track unreliability events and reliability improvement opportunities.
- Provide technical information for field unreliability events, supported by equipment history and process data, for area maintenance. Review PM Defect Reports and evaluate corrective actions.
- Participate in developing, revising, and tracking Asset Management strategies.
- Supervise the documentation and development of asset inventory for each class of assets, including asset condition, level of service and performance, risk signature, maintenance strategies, repair/replacement models, financial forecasts, and tactical and work plans.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on High Voltage Electrical Equipment.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical Industry, or Power Utility sector, specifically in Power Systems Reliability & Asset Integrity Management.
- Familiarity with reliability programs such as RAM, RCM, Reliability Management System (RMS), Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), and "Bad Actors," including experience with SAP or equivalent computerized systems.
- Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP), Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE), TapRooT Analyst, or Six Sigma Certification is preferred.
