The Role of Senior Construction Manager - Electrical

The Senior Construction Manager - Electrical will oversee the construction, installation, testing, and commissioning of major utility and infrastructure packages across a large-scale project. This position involves providing technical leadership, construction oversight, and stakeholder management to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently, and to required quality standards. The project includes extensive infrastructure and built assets, delivered through a hands-on construction management approach, suitable for those experienced in managing both main and subcontract packages. The development features complex utility infrastructure and networks, including power, telecommunications, district cooling, water, and wastewater systems, along with associated treatment and distribution facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the construction delivery of electrical infrastructure and utility packages from mobilisation through to handover.
  • Manage contractors and subcontractors undertaking utility, power, and infrastructure works.
  • Monitor construction progress against programme and implement recovery plans as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality requirements, regulatory approvals, and industry standards.
  • Coordinate interfaces between utility providers, contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.
  • Oversee testing, commissioning, and operational readiness activities.
  • Drive health, safety, and environmental performance across all work fronts.
  • Review construction methodologies, temporary works proposals, and installation sequencing.
  • Support risk identification, mitigation, and resolution of site-related issues.
  • Produce and present progress updates to senior project leadership.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess a strong background in major infrastructure programmes and utility-heavy developments. A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience is required.
