Site Civil Engineer

About the Role

SNC-Lavalin Fayez Engineering is seeking a Site Civil Engineer to oversee large-scale construction projects. This role focuses on ensuring that all project execution aligns with contractual, technical, and quality requirements. The position is a regular work type, requiring 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
• Identify deviations in contractor performance or expected outcomes, propose corrective actions, and coordinate with all parties to achieve project deliverables.
• Review construction progress and quality control measures.
• Manage, supervise, and monitor subordinate local civil engineers.
• Monitor the quality and timeliness of responses from consultants regarding technical site issues and Requests for Information (RFIs).
• Monitor information provided by contractors for RFIs and shop drawing submittals.
• Track the timing of submittals against schedule requirements and the number of re-submittals needed for approval.
• Ensure the suitability and availability of drawings and data for the contractor's work.
• Monitor staffing levels and the suitability of abilities for outstanding work items.
• Oversee the quality of products, information, and coordination provided by the consultant.
• Monitor the quality and timeliness of inspections conducted by the consultant.
• Verify and maintain copies of daily reports.
• Monitor compliance with approved coordinated method statements for carrying out works.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in civil engineering roles, particularly in construction project monitoring.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and supervise engineering subordinates.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, technical specifications, and quality control processes.
