The Role of Retail Specialist

The Retail Specialist is responsible for delivering a high standard of retail service by assisting guests and processing transactions. This full-time role involves providing product recommendations, supporting cross-promotion of attraction activities, and contributing to overall guest satisfaction and revenue generation. The position requires 2-5 years of experience in a relevant field.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome and greet guests professionally, in line with the attraction's service standards.
• Assist guests with product inquiries and provide accurate information to support purchasing decisions.
• Process sales transactions accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system, including various payment methods.
• Actively cross-sell and upsell retail products to maximize sales opportunities.
• Promote and cross-sell the attraction's wider activities and experiences.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing retail space, ensuring products are displayed correctly and shelves are stocked.
• Monitor and replenish stock levels, reporting low inventory to the supervisor.
• Handle guest complaints professionally, escalating issues to the supervisor when necessary.
• Process returns, exchanges, and refunds according to company policy.
• Adhere to all cash handling procedures and ensure till accuracy at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Participate in stock counts, audits, and inventory checks as required.
• Comply with all health, safety, and operational policies and procedures.

Work Environment and Context

This role operates within a fast-paced retail environment that involves direct customer interaction. The Specialist will support daily store operations, sales targets, and customer satisfaction initiatives. Flexibility in scheduling is required, including working weekends, public holidays, and during peak retail periods. Collaboration with store management, sales associates, and support functions is essential to achieve business objectives.

Financial Responsibilities

The Retail Specialist is responsible for contributing to individual and store sales targets. The role supports inventory control and stock accuracy to minimize losses and shrinkage, and contributes to revenue growth through effective product promotion and upselling. Compliance with company policies regarding cash handling and financial transactions is mandatory.
